Group 1 Automotive buys 2 El Paso car dealers - BusinessWeek

HOUSTON

Auto dealership chain Group 1 Automotive Inc. said Tuesday that it has purchased two auto dealerships in El Paso, Texas.

The Houston company said it acquired Shamaley Ford and Shamaley Buick-GMC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company said the dealerships are expected to generate $190 million in total annual revenue.

Group 1 said in a statement that the deal will complement BMW and Mini dealerships that the company already owns in El Paso.

Group 1 owns 105 dealerships and 136 franchises in the U.S. and United Kingdom.
